So... I've been... watching a new show lately. One of my friends recommended it to me a while back. I put off watching it, but with its huge surge in popularity among the geek community, I felt it was my duty to look into it.
Yes, I've finally started watching "My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic."
And... *sigh* ... It's awesome! The characters are loveable, the stories are great, the jokes are hilarious, the setting is colorful and interesting. It's just an all around great show! It doesn't need to cram itself full of adult jokes, or to pander to an older audience by being cynical and angsty. It just does what a show should: Tell fun stories with fun characters in a fun atmosphere. So, I figured it was time for me to own up and admit that I like my little pony. While I wouldn't consider myself a Brony, since I have no intention of buying toys or anything like that, I will admit that I'm a fan of the show and wish all the best of luck to it, the creators, and the fan base.
And in case any Bronies do read my journals, I'll go so far as to admit who my favorite Pony is:
Twilight Sparkle. While there are some tough contenders among the main cast (particularly Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash), I have to go with this bookish, studious filly. She seems like the character with the most intelligence and emotional depth to her. I like her relationship with her pet dragon, Spike, in particular, as well as her hero worship of Princess Celestia (though, seriously, does that mare ever do ANYTHING? She gets her plot kicked every time a villain shows up). Just a fun character in a whole cast of other fun characters.
So yeah... Watch the show. It's fun, it's colorful, the animation and jokes are great, and I think people will enjoy it if they give it a chance. And if you don't, that's fine too. Just don't knock it 'till you've tried it.

Yu-Gi-Oh! is killing me!
So, thanks to some friends at work, I've backslid into one of my most hated addictions, the duel monsters card game from the Yu-gi-oh! tv series. I've picked it up and dropped it about once every two or three years ever since middle school. I'll pick it up again, get into it, get frustrated, and drop it again. Luckily, I'm using a free online game this time, so I haven't wasted any money, but man is this game a killer. As usual, there's two or three "top tier" decks that EVERYONE uses, and as usual I refuse to use them out of protest. But, that's a recipe for disappointment and frustration, especially since I feel like this time there are no
OC Feature
~AtomicKingBoo2 (https://www.deviantart.com/atomickingboo2) is hosting an OC feature event. The first ten people to comment on his latest journal get one of their OCs featured, as long as it's not fan art. As thanks, I'm going to feature his OC and offer the same option to others on my journal. The first ten people to comment will get one of their OCs featured on my journal, as well as a short description and what I think of them. No need to tell me which one. Just comment, and I'll pick my favorite. In exchange, do the same in your journal with one of my OCs and start an OC feature yourself. This way we can spread the word for underappreciated artists and their original character
Ask my characters!
Since it's so in vogue to make ask blogs of your characters, I'd like to start an ask blog for various members of Decadent and Depraved. Ask Madeline, Tom, Isis, or any other character from Decadent and Depraved a question, and I'll draw them answering it in traditional ask blog fashion. Drop a message here in the form of a note, or message me on my personal tumblr. http://decadent-depraved.tumblr.com/
Downton Abbey
So, for the last month or so, my parents have been pestering me to watch Masterpiece Theater's "Downton Abbey," declaring it to be "the best show ever." So I finally broke down and started watching it with them. I admit, I can see what they mean. The direction is brilliant, the acting is stellar, the writing is excellent... and I hate it! I hate hate hate it, and I hate that I hate it! This show drives me crazy! I'm so sick of watching these petty, snobbish, elitist morons and their petty, stupid problems that would all be resolved in about five minutes if they all pulled the sticks out of their asses and minded their own business! I hate the

I like MLP:FIM too! I love the animation, the storylines and, yes, the humor. I have a problem choosing my favorite character, though. I do love Twilight Sparkle, but Rainbow Dash is also fun (I love her attitude). And I enjoy Apple Jack's down to earth attitude. For sheer design, I love Nightmare Moon.
